Apple Releases Fourth Betas of iOS 17.4 and iPadOS 17.4
Apple has released the fourth betas of iOS 17.4 and iPadOS 17.4 to developers for testing purposes.
New Features in iOS 17.4
The latest beta version of iOS 17.4 brings significant changes to the App Store and app operations specifically for users in the European Union (EU). These changes allow for the use of alternative app marketplaces, alternative payment systems, third-party browser engine support, as well as NFC access for banks and third-party payment providers. However, it's important to note that these features are only available to users in the EU and not in other countries.
In addition, gaming apps will experience some changes with the introduction of iOS 17.4. Apple will now allow cloud gaming apps like Xbox Cloud Gaming and Nvidia GeForce NOW. Furthermore, mini games, chatbots, and plug-ins can now utilize the in-app purchase system.
Apart from these notable updates, iOS 17.4 also includes new emoji characters, podcast transcripts in the Podcasts app, support for using SharePlay with the HomePod, Stopwatch Live Activities, and more.
