Ayo Edebiri Reflects on Past Jokes About Jennifer Lopez

While hosting 'Saturday Night Live' on February 3rd, Ayo Edebiri took a moment to acknowledge jokes she had previously made about Jennifer Lopez. The episode featured Lopez as the musical guest, making it the perfect opportunity for Edebiri to address the comments.

In a game show sketch where Kenan Thompson forced contestants to confront their rude social media comments, Edebiri admitted to the recently resurfaced remarks. She stated, 'Okay. We get it. It's wrong to leave mean comments, or post comments just for attention, or speak negatively on a podcast without considering the impact. But I think I speak for everyone when I say that from now on, we're going to be a lot more thoughtful about what we post online.'

Edebiri's Comments on 'Scam Goddess'

In a 2020 episode of 'Scam Goddess,' Ayo Edebiri made comments about Jennifer Lopez's career. Host Laci Mosley referred to Lopez's career as 'one long scam' and suggested that the singer is oblivious to criticism.

Edebiri responded by saying, 'Well, that's the thing — she thinks she's on multiple tracks, but it's not her. I think she believes she's still talented, even though she's not singing for most of these songs.' She went on to point out that many write-ups of Lopez's songs mention that she didn't have time to make it to the studio or that she was busy doing something other than singing.'

Lopez's Presence on 'SNL'

Although Jennifer Lopez did not appear in any sketches during the episode, she did stand alongside Ayo Edebiri in a promo released prior to the show. In the promo, Lopez expresses her admiration for Edebiri's show, to which Edebiri responds, 'I love your everything.'
