Cher Seeks Control Over Son's Estate

Cher has filed for a conservatorship of her son, Elijah Blue Allman, citing his severe substance abuse and mental health issues. The filing, submitted in Los Angeles Superior Court, requests that Cher be the sole conservator of her son's estate.

According to the documents, Elijah is substantially unable to manage his financial resources, and immediate action is needed to protect his property from loss or injury. Cher is concerned that any funds distributed to Elijah will be spent on drugs, leaving him with no assets to provide for himself and putting his life at risk.

The filing also states that Elijah's estranged wife, Marie Angela King, cannot be his conservator due to their tumultuous relationship marked by drug addiction and mental health crises.

Previous Allegation of Kidnapping

Earlier this year, there were reports that Cher hired four men to kidnap Elijah to prevent him from reconciling with King. However, Cher denied these rumors, stating they were not true.

The allegation emerged in divorce documents filed by Allman and King, revealing that they had filed for divorce in 2021 but allegedly reconnected for 12 days in November 2022. During this period, it was reported that four men entered their hotel room in New York and abducted Allman.

King expressed concerns about her husband's wellbeing and his undisclosed whereabouts. She claimed that she had been prohibited from seeing or speaking to Allman, who was said to be in lockdown at an undisclosed treatment facility without access to his phone.

Cher's Efforts to Help Elijah

Cher has been actively involved in getting Elijah the help he needs for his substance abuse issues. The court filing states that Cher has worked tirelessly to get Elijah into treatment and has always acted with his best interests in mind.

Despite the challenges, Cher remains devoted to her son and will continue to support him in any way she can. The filing also mentions that Elijah's current mental and physical health issues have made it difficult to discuss his preferences regarding the appointment of a temporary conservator.

A hearing for a temporary conservatorship order is scheduled for January 5, 2024, with a hearing for a permanent order set to follow on March 6, 2024.
