Novak Djokovic, who finished as the world No. 1 in the ATP rankings for the eighth time, was named the ITF World Champion for the eighth time as well. He had an outstanding season, winning the Australian Open, French Open, and US Open. With these victories, Djokovic extended his record for the most major trophies won by a male player to 24. Additionally, he reached the finals at Wimbledon and won a total of seven titles throughout the year.

His remarkable performance on the court led him to a win-loss record of 56-7, solidifying his position as the top-ranked player. Djokovic's dominance in 2023 truly showcased his exceptional talent and determination.

Sabalenka's Breakthrough Grand Slam

Aryna Sabalenka, on the other hand, received the ITF World Champion honor for the first time in her career. Her breakthrough came at the Australian Open, where she emerged victorious and claimed her first Grand Slam title. Sabalenka also reached the finals at the US Open and reached the semifinals at both the French Open and Wimbledon.

Her exceptional performances throughout the year led her to debut at the world No. 1 ranking in September. Although she finished the year as the No. 2 ranked player behind Iga Swiatek, the WTA Player of the Year, Sabalenka's success in the Grand Slam tournaments solidified her status as a top player in the women's singles category.

In addition to Djokovic and Sabalenka, other players were honored as ITF World Champions in various categories. Storm Hunter and Elise Mertens were named the women's doubles champions, while Rajeev Ram and Joe Salisbury were recognized as the men's doubles champions.
