Dolly Parton steals show on Thanksgiving, dresses as Dallas Cowboys cheerleader for halftime performance
The Dallas Cowboys continued their tradition of playing on Thanksgiving, but it was the halftime show that stole headlines.
Dolly Parton's Halftime Performance
Dolly Parton, the 77-year-old country music legend, performed at halftime of the game between the Dallas Cowboys and the Washington Commanders on Thanksgiving.
Dressed in the iconic Cowboys cheerleader outfit, Parton sang some of her hits, including 'Jolene' and '9 to 5,' as well as her own rendition of 'We Are the Champions' by Queen.
This was Parton's second time in less than a week being seen on a football field, as she had joined NFL great Peyton Manning for Tennessee's game against top-ranked Georgia on Saturday.
At the end of the first quarter, Parton joined the crowd in singing 'Rocky Top'. Despite having a little trouble hearing, she expressed gratitude for being there and thanked the audience.
Dallas Cowboys' Victory
Parton's performance came during the Dallas Cowboys' dominant 45-10 win over the Washington Commanders, improving their season record to 8-3.
Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott was instrumental in the victory, throwing for 331 yards and four touchdowns as the Dallas offense scored 25 unanswered points in the fourth quarter.
This win extended the Cowboys' impressive home winning streak to 13 games.
On the other hand, Washington suffered their eighth loss in the last ten games, dropping their season record to 4-8.
Reaction and Upcoming Games
Washington receiver Terry McLaurin commented on the loss, expressing disappointment in their inability to make the necessary plays to score touchdowns.
Looking ahead, the NFL continues with a game between the New York Jets and the Miami Dolphins on Friday.
Overall, Dolly Parton's halftime performance and the Dallas Cowboys' victory were highlights of the Thanksgiving game.
