Giorgio Armani's Fall-Winter Collection Embraces Nature and Asian Cultures
Giorgio Armani's collection for the next cold weather season, previewed on the last day of Milan Fashion Week, embraces the designer's love of nature and admiration of Asian cultures.
Garden Party for Daytime Looks
Giorgio Armani's Fall-Winter collection features daytime looks that evoke a garden party atmosphere. The ensembles consist of unstructured jackets and textured trousers, complemented by pretty embroidered shoes and hats. The outfits are accentuated with obi belts, adding a touch of elegance to the overall look.
One particular standout look showcased a dragonfly motif embroidered on a field of flowers. Another highlight was a couture-worthy jacket constructed out of three-dimensional organza flowers. The evening wear in the collection sparkled as if lit up by fireflies, creating a mesmerizing effect on the runway.
Winter Flowers as a Motif
Armani chose winter flowers as a motif for his collection, expressing resistance and contrast. According to the designer, flowers represent a better season, symbolizing hope and optimism. The intricate floral embroidery on black jackets adds a pop of color and brings a touch of nature into the winter wardrobe.
Armani's attention to detail and his quest for satisfying his own expectations are evident in the collection. He worked on one floral element for eight months to achieve the desired result. However, the renowned designer remains unsatisfied and plans to make further improvements for the next show.
A Fashion Week Staple
Giorgio Armani has been anchoring the last day of Milan Fashion Week for years, maintaining its significance and drawing attention from fashion enthusiasts worldwide. This year was no exception, with notable attendees including Cate Blanchett, Italian rocker Victoria De Angelis, actor Aaron Taylor-Johnson, director Sam Taylor-Johnson, and French actor Louis Garrel.
However, Armani aims to enhance the flow of the event and has written to the Italian fashion council requesting an extension of Milan Fashion Week by a day. The goal is to alleviate the challenges posed by far-flung shows and various external factors, such as anti-war demonstrations, transportation strikes, and adverse weather conditions.
