HBO Celebrates 25th Anniversary of 'The Sopranos' with Special Events
HBO and Max are marking the 25th anniversary of 'The Sopranos' with a range of exciting activities.
New TikTok Account and Deleted Footage
HBO has created an official Sopranos TikTok account (@TheSopranos) to commemorate the show's 25th anniversary. The account features 'Sopranos in :25,' a series of ultra-condensed 25-second recaps of all 86 episodes.
Max, the streaming platform by Warner Bros. Discovery, has released never-before-seen deleted scenes from 'The Sopranos' as part of their in-app Sopranos 25th Anniversary collection. The collection, launched on Monday, also offers expanded access to behind-the-scenes content and includes 15 deleted scenes, three of which have never been released. It also features over five hours of behind-the-scenes featurette content. All seasons of the series are currently available to stream on Max.
Free Episodes and Cast Reunion
To celebrate the 25th anniversary, select cable partners will provide free episodes of 'The Sopranos' on their on-demand platforms. Additionally, the first two episodes from Season 1 will be available for free on Max's YouTube channel.
On January 10, HBO is hosting a cast reunion and multiple fan experiences, including fan screenings at Alamo Drafthouse. The event coincides with the 25-year anniversary of the show's debut in 1999.
Pop-Up Shops and Special Edition Products
Max has planned various fan events for the anniversary, including a private 'family dinner' for the cast of 'The Sopranos.' There will also be a pop-up shop called Satriale's in New York and Los Angeles, offering authentic Sopranos-inspired Italian sandwiches.
Additionally, a notable Italian restaurant in New York City, Da Nico, will serve a special menu featuring 'Sopranos'-inspired dishes from January 11 to February 4. HBO Shop and apparel brand Tombolo are partnering to release special-edition products throughout 2024 to commemorate the anniversary.
