Terror Threat Forces Closure of Hello Kitty Theme Park
Sanrio Puroland, also known as Hello Kitty Land, located in Tama New Town in north Tokyo, had to close down for the day after receiving a terrorist threat. The park operators released a statement on their official website, stating that they received a terrorist threat email on Saturday. Due to concerns about the safety of their customers, performers, and staff, they decided to temporarily close the park.
As a precautionary measure, an official police report was filed, and refunds for tickets purchased on Saturday are being considered. The park operators worked in collaboration with the police and confirmed that there were no longer any safety threats. Therefore, they plan to resume normal operations on February 25.
Despite the inconvenience caused by the closure, the operators expressed their gratitude for the understanding and cooperation of the visitors. They also apologized for any inconvenience caused and assured everyone that they will continue to prioritize the safety and enjoyment of the park's events.
