The game itself started with an early goal from Hischier just 32 seconds into the first period. Tyler Toffoli also found the back of the net, giving the Devils a 2-0 lead. Despite a strong second period from the Flyers, the Devils maintained their lead with goals from Smith and Bastian. Tippett and Seeler scored for the Flyers, but Hischier sealed the win with his second goal in the third period.
