New Speeds Offered through Jupiter 3 Satellite

In an effort to compete with Starlink, HughesNet is now offering customers access to 100Mbps satellite internet speeds. This upgrade is made possible by the Jupiter 3, a large communications satellite launched by the company in July. After conducting tests, HughesNet is confident that Jupiter 3 is ready for action.

The increased speeds will be available as part of the existing HughesNet Fusion plan. Previously, customers could enjoy maximum download speeds of 25Mbps for $74.99 per month or 50Mbps for $149.99 per month. The Fusion plan will now support download speeds of up to 100Mbps, with a monthly charge of $109.99. However, upload speeds are limited to 5Mbps.

New Elite Plan with 100Mbps Download Speeds

HughesNet is also launching a new Elite plan that offers 100Mbps download speeds at a lower price. Customers can subscribe to this plan for $89.99 per month. Both the Elite and Fusion Plans come with a high-speed data cap of either 100GB or 200GB per month. When the cap is exceeded, subscribers can continue using data at reduced speeds.

During the launch, HughesNet is providing discounts on both the Fusion and Elite plans to attract new customers.

Jupiter 3 Satellite and Increased Broadband Capacity

To deliver improved broadband speeds, HughesNet's Jupiter 3 satellite offers over 500Gbps in capacity, contributing to the company's total capacity of over 1Tbps. The satellite is equipped with more than 300 spot beams to alleviate congestion and provide a faster experience.

The ground system for Jupiter 3 includes a dedicated fiber backbone to reduce latency and AI technology that automatically reroutes traffic to avoid congestion. This technology ensures a smoother and more efficient satellite internet experience for HughesNet customers.
