The research conducted robot tests on 46 golf ball models, and Poulter found the resulting yardage differences laughable.

In a now-deleted post on social media, Poulter compared his own swing speed and carried yardage to those presented in the research. He highlighted that the given yardages should be carry distances and that launch conditions should be considered.

Horschel Responds to Poulter's Claims

Billy Horschel took issue with Poulter's claimed swing speed and called him out on social media. He attached screenshots from the PGA Tour website showing Poulter's average club head speeds from previous seasons, which contradicted Poulter's claims.

Poulter acknowledged the disparity between his exaggerated claims and the data provided by Horschel. He admitted that there was some embellishment on his part and made a sarcastic remark about the fee Horschel demanded to join LIV Golf.
