Rose's Impressive Par Save

During the opening round of the Cognizant Classic, Justin Rose showcased his creativity by saving par from under a fence. After hitting his tee shot left of the fairway at the par-4 13th, Rose's ball ended up under a boundary fence with a mesh complexion.

According to the Rules of Golf, a player is allowed to stand out-of-bounds to play a ball on the course as long as the ball is not completely outside the boundary edge. With Rose's ball under the fence, he was able to play it as it lied.

Rose decided to hop the fence and stand in an adjacent backyard, putting himself out-of-bounds for the shot but keeping the ball in play. He executed a punch-type shot from 124 yards, making impact behind the ball, and the ball safely reached the fairway for his third shot.

The Result and Impressions

After the impressive par save, Rose ultimately signed for a 2-under 69, placing him five strokes behind the leaders Chad Ramey and S.H. Kim at PGA National's Champion course.

Luke Donald, who was acting as a guest analyst for NBC, commented on Rose's shot, recalling a similar experience he had: "Not proud to say, but once I hooked it so far left that it bounced off of someone's roof and back into play, and I made an easy 4. Sometimes you've got to be lucky." Rose's creativity and skill combination resulted in a memorable save.
