Universal Orlando Reveals Details about New Theme Park
Universal Orlando has shared new details about its upcoming theme park, Epic Universe. The park, set to open in 2025, will feature a dueling coaster named Starfall Racers, a new Wizarding World of Harry Potter land, roaming monsters, and "How to Train Your Dragon" attractions. This announcement comes as the first major bundle of park details since Epic Universe was announced in 2019.
The first area that visitors will encounter at Epic Universe is Celestial Park. Universal revealed that Celestial Park will consist of gardens, waterways, the Constellation Carousel, the Astronomica wet-play area, dining options, and shops. It will also serve as a portal to four other lands: The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Ministry of Magic, How to Train Your Dragon – Isle of Berk, Super Nintendo World, and Dark Universe, the home of Dr. Victoria Frankenstein's experiments.
Universal Orlando's Transformational Moment
Universal Orlando Resort's president and chief operating officer, Karen Irwin, stated that Epic Universe marks a significant transformational moment for the resort. She believes that it will change everything about the destination and turn Universal Orlando into a weeklong vacation destination filled with thrilling experiences.
To accompany the announcement, Universal released two videos. One showcased a digital fly-through of the Celestial Park attractions, while the other included narration by key figures within Universal Parks & Destinations. The videos aim to provide a sneak peek into what visitors can expect at Epic Universe.
Excitement Surrounding Epic Universe
Alicia Stella, founder of Theme Park Stop website, expressed her excitement about the confirmed attractions and new visuals at Epic Universe. She commended Universal for not tying certain attractions, such as Starfall Racers and Constellation Carousel, to any specific intellectual property. Stella believes that this move is groundbreaking and showcases Universal's innovation in theme park development.
Dennis Speigel, owner of International Theme Park Services Inc., praised the magnitude of Epic Universe and the quality of its attractions. He believes that Universal has selected the best of the best, including the popular Harry Potter and Super Nintendo World franchises, which will contribute to a significant attendance uptick.
