Alexis Lafrenière scored the game-winning goal just 1:53 into overtime, leading the New York Rangers to a 2-1 victory over the Colorado Avalanche. Lafrenière received a pass from Mika Zibanejad and made a wrist shot from the right face-off circle, securing the win for the Rangers.

Jonathan Quick, the Rangers' goaltender, played a pivotal role in the win. Quick came out of the net to clear the puck, nearly turning it over, but ultimately setting up the Rangers for the game-winning rush. Lafrenière's goal came as a result of Quick's efforts and sealed the comeback victory for New York.

MacKinnon Continues Impressive Point Streak

Nathan MacKinnon extended his point streak to 14 games with a goal in the first period. MacKinnon's scoring streak also reached five games. He has been a dominant force for the Avalanche, totaling 65 points in his last 34 games.

With his impressive performance, MacKinnon now shares the scoring lead in the NHL with Nikita Kucherov of the Tampa Bay Lightning, both having accumulated 85 points through 50 games. MacKinnon's consistent offensive production has been a major factor in the Avalanche's success this season.

Jonathan Quick made 31 saves in the game, showcasing his exceptional goaltending skills. His efforts were crucial in giving the Rangers a chance to win in overtime. Quick's ability to prevent goals and make key saves, including a stop on a one-timer from Mikko Rantanen in the final minute of regulation, kept the Rangers in the game.

Quick's performance also resulted in personal milestones. With his 386th career win, he surpassed Mike Vernon on the all-time wins list, placing him 16th overall.
