Larry David Reveals Next Steps After 'Curb Your Enthusiasm' in Final Season Premiere

Larry David recently attended the premiere of the final season of 'Curb Your Enthusiasm' and shared his plans for the future and insights into the creative freedom HBO gave him during the show's run.

At the premiere of the first two episodes of Season 12 of 'Curb Your Enthusiasm', Larry David took to the stage to introduce the show. He received a standing ovation from the audience but joked that if he had been a different person, he might have been touched by it. David humorously addressed the final season, stating that he would have plenty to do after it ends. He mentioned his love for traveling and jokingly spoke about medical emergencies in foreign countries and his attraction to Antarctica and penguins.

David also mentioned wanting to accomplish a few things he's been putting off, including getting a stool test. He even joked about trying Ayahuasca and blowing his mind in a dark room. Lastly, he humorously commented on HBO changing their name to Max and considered changing his name to Irving.

During his introduction, Larry David expressed his appreciation for the creative freedom HBO gave him throughout the show's 12-season run. He mentioned executives like David Zaslav and Amy Gravitt, stating that HBO never gave him any notes for the show. Instead, they made suggestions, which David embraced. He jokingly described notes as harsh and preferred suggestions. Having the freedom to explore his comedic vision without interference was something David considered himself lucky to have experienced.

He introduced cast members such as Vince Vaughn and Cheryl Hines and expressed how fortunate he felt to have worked with them. Additionally, he paid tribute to two late cast members, Shelley Berman, who played his father on the show, and Bob Einstein, recognizing their contributions to the series. David's heartfelt acknowledgement highlighted the bond and impact of the cast members on 'Curb Your Enthusiasm'.
