Late-Night Hosts Disagree

Donald Trump recently claimed that he’s more popular than Taylor Swift, but several late-night TV hosts would beg to differ. Last night, Jimmy Kimmel, Stephen Colbert, and more took aim at Trump with some poignant reminders that Swift is exceptionally popular.

On Jimmy Kimmel Live, Kimmel told Republicans to 'enjoy her music while you still can' before MAGA followers declare a 'fatwa' on Swift. Referring to Trump as 'Don-ye West,' Kimmel noted, 'If Taylor Swift told her fans to storm the capital on January 6th they would have succeeded. They would be running the country right now.'

After reminding Trump that Swift is popular all over the world, even in cities no one has ever heard of, he added, 'The truth is you’re not even the most popular Donald — there’s still a cartoon duck with a speech impediment and no pants on.'

Hilarious Retorts

On The Tonight Show, Jimmy Fallon quipped 'I’m not sure Trump has more committed fans, but he definitely has more fans who have been committed.'

Meanwhile, on The Late Show, Colbert called Trump’s claims that his fans are more committed than Swift’s 'insane.' Seth Meyers reminded viewers that you can’t manufacture the kind of popularity Swift has, comparing it to Joe Biden speaking in front of a huge crowd at a stadium.

As Rolling Stone reported earlier this week, Swift hasn’t even endorsed Biden for reelection, but that hasn’t stopped members of MAGAland’s upper crust from plotting to declare a 'holy war' on the pop megastar, especially if she ends up publicly backing the Democrats in the 2024 election.

Trump's Controversial Relationship with Swift

According to sources close to Donald Trump, it is widely believed among Trump's allies that Taylor Swift will eventually endorse Biden, just as she did in 2020. Swift had criticized Trump during the previous election, accusing him of jeopardizing American lives with his actions.

However, Swift's endorsement remains uncertain. Nonetheless, Trump loyalists, right-wing media figures, and outside advisers have had numerous discussions with the former president regarding this potential endorsement.
