Lisa Marie Presley's Memoir
The posthumous memoir of Lisa Marie Presley, written in collaboration with her daughter Riley Keough, will be published later this year. The as yet untitled book will be released by Pan Macmillan on October 15. Lisa Marie had recorded parts of her memoir on tape and asked Keough to help her finish it before she passed away on January 12 last year.
According to the publisher, the memoir is mostly composed of Lisa Marie's own words, with Keough filling in the gaps from her own memory. The book will delve into Lisa Marie's relationship with her famous father Elvis, her mother Priscilla, as well as her marriages to Michael Jackson and Nicolas Cage. It will also touch upon the tragic loss of her son Benjamin, who took his own life in 2020.
Remembering Lisa Marie Presley
Lisa Marie Presley passed away unexpectedly at the age of 54 due to a bowel obstruction, a complication of bariatric surgery she had undergone a few years ago. Her memoir is an opportunity for people to get to know her beyond being Elvis's daughter.
Sara Cywinski, the publishing director at Pan Macmillan, expressed her gratitude for the chance to show Lisa Marie's true self through the eyes of Riley and those closest to her. The book aims to help future generations understand the complexity of being a Presley.
In addition to the print edition, an audiobook of the memoir will be released simultaneously. It will be read by Riley Keough and will feature snippets of Lisa Marie's voice, allowing readers to have a more immersive experience.
Lisa Marie's Legacy
Lisa Marie Presley was the only child of Elvis and Priscilla Presley. She grew up in Graceland and pursued a career as a singer, releasing three albums. Her daughter, Riley Keough, is a 34-year-old actor who also serves as the sole trustee of Graceland.
Riley expressed her excitement to share her vulnerable and honest portrayal of her mother in the memoir and hopes that readers will come to love Lisa Marie as much as she did.
