Zuckerberg's Critique of Apple's 'Vision Pro'

Zuckerberg criticized Apple's 'Vision Pro' virtual reality headset in a product review, asserting that his company's Quest 3 VR headset is the superior product.

According to Zuckerberg, the Quest 3 has several advantages over the Vision Pro, including a lighter weight, a deeper content library, a wider field of view, and no wires.

He also noted that the Vision Pro has an uncomfortable 'motion blur' effect and is less suitable for gaming compared to the Quest 3.

Zuckerberg's Take on Apple's Closed Model

In his review, Zuckerberg remarked on the open and closed models of computing. He stated that while Apple's closed model has been successful in the mobile industry, it is not always the case for every generation of computing.

Zuckerberg's comments seemed to target Apple's devoted fanbase, commonly referred to as 'fanboys,' who fiercely support the brand.

He filmed his takedown of the Vision Pro while using his own Quest 3 headset, adding an extra layer of mockery.

Mixed Reactions to the Vision Pro

The Vision Pro has received a mixed response since its debut. While some, like 'Avatar' director James Cameron, have praised it as a remarkable experience, others have likened it to 'tech fentanyl.'

Meta has been dominant in the VR headset market, with its Quest products accounting for a significant share of sales in 2022.

Apple's Vision Pro, which began accepting pre-orders in January, has reportedly sold around 200,000 units so far.
