Meta Quest 3 Introduces New Features Similar to Apple Vision Pro Headsets
Meta has announced that the Quest 3 headset will support two new features similar to the Apple Vision Pro headsets.
Meta Quest 3 Supports 3D Spatial Videos
Thanks to the new v62 software update, the Meta Quest 3 headset will now support 3D spatial videos created with the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max.
Users can upload their stereoscopic content to the Meta Quest mobile app, which will then convert the video into Quest-compatible playback and send it to the headset.
To showcase the capabilities of spatial video, Meta has made demo videos available for viewing on the Meta Quest headset in the spatial videos section of the Files menu.
Quest 3 Now Compatible with Gamepads
In addition to the 3D spatial video support, Meta also announced that the Quest 3 will now support gamepads like the PS5 DualSense controller.
This brings the Quest 3 closer in functionality to the Apple Vision Pro headsets, which also have gamepad support.
The new software update will be rolled out gradually to users, so if you don't see the v62 update yet, it will be coming soon.
