Injury During Saints vs Lions Game

During the Saints' game against the Detroit Lions, running back Alvin Kamara collided with an NFL official near the sideline.

The collision occurred after Kamara was tackled and fell to the ground. As he fell, he collided with the legs of the official.

The official, later identified as Nick Piazza, appeared to sustain a significant leg injury and was in obvious pain.

Medical Attention and Diagnosis

Medical staff attended to Nick Piazza on the field for several minutes following the collision.

Piazza was then stretchered away and taken to the hospital for further evaluation.

It was confirmed that Piazza had suffered a fractured fibula and a dislocated knee. However, his blood vessels remained intact.

Recovery and Surgery

Following an MRI and assessment by an orthopedic doctor, it was determined that Piazza would require surgery.

The surgery for his leg injury is likely to take place next week.
