Pacioretty could make Capitals debut

Max Pacioretty, who has been recovering from a torn Achilles tendon, may make his debut for the Washington Capitals on Friday against the New York Islanders. He participated in line rushes during practice on Thursday, indicating that he could be ready to play.

Capitals coach Spencer Carbery expressed optimism about Pacioretty's potential debut, saying that he expects him to play in one of the next two games. Pacioretty had his first full-contact practice with the team on December 19 and has been gradually working his way back to game shape.

Pacioretty's scoring ability will be a valuable addition to the Capitals' lineup. With 645 points in 855 regular-season games over his career, including six seasons with at least 30 goals, he has proven to be a consistent contributor on offense.

Giordano expected to be back for Maple Leafs

Mark Giordano is set to return to the Toronto Maple Leafs after missing 12 games due to a thumb injury. He practiced on Thursday and expressed confidence in his readiness to play.

Maple Leafs coach Sheldon Keefe praised Giordano's leadership and puck-moving ability. The defenseman's return will provide a significant boost to the team's defensive capabilities.

Giordano has recorded five points in 20 games this season, and the Maple Leafs have gone 6-3-3 since his injury. His presence on the ice will greatly benefit the team's performance and contribute to their success going forward.
