Late Return of a Poetry Book

The Licking County Library in Ohio was surprised when a patron recently returned a book of poetry that was 93 years overdue. The book was originally due in 1931 and was found by the patron in her great aunt's house.

The library shared a video on Instagram showcasing the book and revealing its interior. The book, titled 'Heart Throbs,' was published in 1905 and claimed to have had contributions from 50,000 people.

Despite its age, the book was well-preserved and even had a neat little bookmark left in it. The library will not charge late fees for the return of this book.

Fine-Free Library

The Licking County Library announced that it is now 'fine-free,' meaning they will not charge fines for late returns. This policy applies to all late books, including the one returned after 93 years.

The library, located in Newark, Ohio, has been in its current location since 2000. It has a rich history, having been established in the late 19th century. At the time the book was checked out, the library was located about a quarter of a mile down the road from its current location.
