SpaceX Prepares for Launch Rehearsal

SpaceX has stacked the Ship 28 upper-stage prototype on its Booster 10 first-stage partner at the Starbase site in South Texas. This milestone brings them closer to a full launch rehearsal ahead of Flight 3.

Photos shared by SpaceX show the stacking process performed by the 'chopstick' arms of Starbase's launch tower.

Flight 3 is scheduled to occur in about three weeks, pending the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration's approval of a launch license.

The Future of Starship

The first two test flights of Starship, the largest and most powerful spacecraft ever built, took place in April and November of the previous year.

Both stages of Starship, made of stainless steel, are designed for full and rapid reusability. SpaceX aims to use this 400-foot-tall megarocket for missions to the moon and Mars, as well as for other operations closer to Earth.

There is even the potential for carrying passengers on board Starship in the future.
