Radu Dragusin's Agent Reveals Tottenham's Efforts in Winning the Race for Centre-Back
Radu Dragusin's agent has opened up on the key role Daniel Levy and Johan Lange played in Tottenham winning the race for the centre-back over Bayern Munich.
Tottenham Prevails in the Race for Radu Dragusin
Radu Dragusin's agent has revealed that Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy and technical director Johan Lange worked until 3am to conclude a deal for the Genoa centre-back. Despite Bayern offering more money, a Bundesliga title race and Champions League football, Dragusin rejected the switch to the Allianz Arena in favour of signing on the dotted line in north London.
The player's agent, Florin Manea, speaking to Romanian newspaper Gazeta Sporturilor, opened up on the fight for the player's signature and the financial package offered by Bayern Munich in comparison to Tottenham. However, Dragusin's decision to choose his career before money coupled with Levy and Lange's 'great efforts' saw Tottenham triumph for the centre-back's signature.
Dragusin Prioritizes Career over Money
"He didn't choose the money. There was more at Bayern," revealed Manea. "He said this is the right step for his career. It is to be appreciated that he chose his career before money.
"There was quite a difference. Almost half as much, if not once again. But the amounts don't matter. They were never a priority. We will always choose the steps we believe are correct. I think he weighed in that he always wanted to get to the Premier League."
Levy and Lange's Determination in Closing the Deal
"Tottenham made great efforts. The owner and sports director were very happy. They both worked very hard. They worked until three in the morning to reach an agreement.
"Now they want him for six-and-a-half years. We have a five-and-a-half year offer. There are still small details to be worked out, 99 per cent we are understood."
