Bollywood actors Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt, who are also a couple in real life, have been cast in the lead roles of Sanjay Leela Bhansali's upcoming film "Love & War". They will be joined by Vicky Kaushal in the project. Kapoor made his debut as a leading man in Bhansali's film "Saawariya" in 2007, while Bhatt starred in his film "Gangubai Kathiawadi" in 2022. The three actors have previously worked together in the film "Brahmastra Part One: Shiva" in 2022.

Not many details about the film have been revealed yet, but it is being described as an "epic saga". Bhansali is known for his grand cinematic vision, and fans can expect nothing less from this upcoming project.

The film is set to release during Christmas 2025 and is being produced by Bhansali Productions. Other companies involved in the film have not yet been announced.

Successes of Kapoor, Bhatt, and Kaushal in 2023

In 2023, both Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt had successful outings at the box office. Kapoor starred in Sandeep Reddy Vanga's action-drama "Animal", while Bhatt appeared in Karan Johar's family drama "Rocky Aur Rani kii Prem Kahaani". Both films made it to the list of India's Top 10 movies for the year. Additionally, Bhatt had a leading role in Tom Harper's spy thriller Netflix film "Heart of Stone".

Vicky Kaushal also had a great year in 2023. He starred alongside Shah Rukh Khan in Rajkumar Hirani's hit film "Dunki", which explored the theme of illegal immigration through a comedy-drama narrative. Kaushal also impressed audiences with his performance in Meghna Gulzar's Indian military biopic "Sam Bahadur", which received critical acclaim and was a commercial success.

Excitement from the Stars and Upcoming Projects

Vicky Kaushal expressed his excitement about being a part of "Love & War" in an Instagram post, saying, "An eternal cinema dream has come true". Alia Bhatt also shared her enthusiasm, stating, "Back with the best... my favourite kind of reunion. Can't wait..."

Apart from "Love & War", Sanjay Leela Bhansali is also working on a Netflix series called "Heeramandi", set in pre-independent, undivided India. The series will explore themes of love, betrayal, succession, and politics in the 'kothas' or bordellos of Heeramandi. Fans can expect Bhansali's trademark larger than life sets and operatic compositions in this upcoming series.
