Ranbir Kapoor's 'Animal' Climbs to the 5th Spot

Ranbir Kapoor's film 'Animal' has achieved a remarkable feat by becoming the 5th highest grossing Indian film in the US. It has surpassed the box office collections of Aamir Khan's 'Dangal' and Ranveer Singh's 'Padmaavat', accumulating a whopping $12 million.

The film, directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga and starring Ranbir Kapoor in the lead role, has proven to be a hit not only in India but also globally. Its success in the US market is particularly noteworthy.

Compared to Ranbir Kapoor's previous film, 'Brahmastra: Part One - Shiva', which was distributed by Disney, 'Animal' has received a wider release and has achieved a broader distribution.

Impressive Box Office Numbers

In its first week, 'Animal' garnered around $9.3 million at the box office. It continued to perform well in the second weekend, adding another $2.46 million to its total collection.

Despite expectations of a slowdown, the film remained consistent on Monday, collecting $251,454. As a result, the movie's total collection in the US crossed $12 million.

It has overtaken Ranveer Singh's 'Padmaavat' ($12.17 million) and Aamir Khan's 'Dangal' ($12.39 million) to secure the 5th spot in the list of highest grossing Indian films in the US.

Challenges Ahead

While 'Animal' has achieved an impressive milestone, there are still a few films ahead of it in the US market. The current leaders in the list of highest grossing Indian films in the US include 'RRR', 'Jawan', 'Pathaan', and 'Baahubali 2: The Conclusion'.

The biggest challenge for 'Animal' lies in surpassing the collections of 'RRR', which stands at $15.15 million. It remains to be seen how the film performs in the coming weeks and whether it can climb higher in the rankings.
