A Tumultuous Relationship
Ryan O'Neal, best known for his role in the classic film Love Story, was laid to rest next to Farrah Fawcett, his longtime lover and former high-profile Hollywood couple. O'Neal passed away on December 8th and was buried on Saturday at the Westwood Memorial Park Cemetery in Los Angeles.
Although the couple had a tumultuous relationship spanning three decades, they were reunited at the time of Fawcett's death in 2009. The ceremony, attended by the couple's son Patrick and a small group of around 25 people, took place at the graveside.
Cause of Death
According to O'Neal's death certificate, he died of congestive heart failure, with the underlying cause being cardiomyopathy, a disease of the heart muscle. No other cause was listed. The actor had been in ill health for some time, having been diagnosed with prostate cancer in 2012 and chronic leukemia in 2001.
Despite his health issues, O'Neal left a lasting impact on the film industry during his career. He gained significant recognition for his performances in the 1970s, with films like Paper Moon, where he starred alongside his daughter Tatum.
