Salaar: Part 1 – Ceasefire Arrives With Thunderous Start

The highly anticipated film Salaar: Part 1 - Ceasefire released in theaters yesterday and it had an earth-shattering opening. Prabhas, who enjoys immense stardom in his home territories, had a thunderous start predicted, as evident from the pre-sales on the opening day. However, on day 2, there has been a significant drop in advance bookings.

Yesterday, critics gave mixed reviews to the Prashanth Neel directorial, but the audience seems to be loving it. Those familiar with Neel's style of storytelling appreciate the content and are thrilled to see Prabhas on the big screen after a long time. For Prabhas' fans, it's a treat.

Day 2 advance booking of Salaar has witnessed a decline compared to the opening day. The film earned an impressive 49 crores gross through pre-sales (excluding blocked seats) on the first day. However, on day 2, only 20 crores gross has been recorded in advance bookings, including 8.90+ lakh tickets. This marks a drop of 59% compared to the opening day.

Common Trend of Heavy Falls on Day 2

This decline in advance bookings on day 2 is a common trend for Telugu films. Most fans prefer watching the films of their favorite stars on the opening day itself, even arranging special shows at higher ticket rates. Therefore, a significant drop on the second day after a strong start is expected.

Now, the real challenge begins for Salaar, and the performance of the dubbed versions in addition to the Telugu version becomes crucial. In the case of successful Tollywood films released on a pan-India level, the Hindi dubbed version and other language versions play a significant role after a massive start in the Telugu version. Let's see if Salaar receives support from its dubbed versions.

Salaar is based in the fictional city of Khansaar and revolves around the story of two best friends, Vardha and Deva. The film also stars Prithviraj Sukumaran, Shruti Haasan, Jagapathi Babu, Bobby Simha, Tinu Anand, and others.
