Suspect Dead After Shooting at University of Nevada, Las Vegas

Shots Reported at UNLV Campus

A suspect is dead after multiple people were injured in a shooting at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, according to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department.

UNLV said shots were reported at Beam Hall, home to the business school, as well as the student union, which is next door.

Police Response and Victims

The shooting was reported at 11:45 a.m. and police responded and "engaged" the suspect, authorities said.

Authorities said "a number of victims" have been taken to hospitals, but the number of victims and their conditions was not released.

UNLV said police were working to evacuate buildings one at a time and students were urged to shelter in place.

No Further Threat and Campus Closure

Authorities said there is no further threat to the university, which has been closed for the rest of the day.

No motive is known, authorities said.
