Team Kuchar Sets the Pace

Team Kuchar, comprised of Matt Kuchar and his 16-year-old son Cameron, got off to a hot start in the PNC Championship. Despite the gray skies and looming rain, the Kuchars managed to shoot a 15-under 57 in the Scramble format, putting them three shots ahead of the competition.

Starting their round on the 10th hole, the Kuchars quickly found their rhythm and birdied most of the holes. They even managed to eagle the par-5 third hole, pushing them to an impressive 11-under par through 12 holes.

The Kuchars' score of 57 was just one shot off the tournament record of 56, set by Davis Love III and his son in 2018. Their exceptional performance puts them in a strong position heading into the final round.

Close Competitors

Four teams are trailing the Kuchars by three shots with a score of 12-under 60. The Langers, Goosens, Singhs, and Duvals all had solid performances in the opening round and will be looking to close the gap in the final round.

Among the teams in contention is Team Woods, consisting of Tiger Woods and his son Charlie. Although they opened with a score of 64, they will need a strong finish on Sunday to have a chance at winning the championship.

Bernhard Langer, the winningest player in the history of the PGA TOUR Champions, is once again in the running with his son Jason. The defending champions, the Singhs, will also be determined to retain their title.

Cameron Kuchar's Love for Bad Weather

Cameron Kuchar, who has been caddying for his father in the rain before, expressed his love for playing in bad weather. He believes that his comfort in challenging conditions gives him an advantage over other players.

With his impressive performance in the PNC Championship, Cameron is showing signs of following in his father's footsteps. While they share a passion for the game, Cameron has also inherited his own strengths, including incredible clubhead speed.

The Kuchars' strong start in the championship has been fueled by their ability to perform well under pressure and adverse weather conditions.
