Apple Support's Response

After the release of Apple's mixed reality headset, Vision Pro, some users have found themselves locked out of their devices due to forgotten passcodes. Upon contacting Apple support, users were advised to bring their headsets to the Apple Store support or mail them to AppleCare for erasure and reset.

The issue was brought to light when a Vision Pro user inquired on an Apple discussion forum about resetting the device when the login password is forgotten. Users reported that Apple support was not initially familiar with how to address the problem, with some having to wait up to an hour and a half to speak with a representative. Eventually, Apple representatives suggested bringing the headset to the Apple Store as a solution.

Potential Future Update

Apple has not provided immediate information on whether a future software update will allow Vision Pro users to reset their passcodes on their own. It remains to be seen if this feature will be introduced to address the issue of forgotten passwords.

In addition to passcode-related problems, Vision Pro customers have also encountered difficulties with setting up Optic ID and the Apple Music app on the headset. These issues have prompted users to seek assistance from Apple's support staff.

Mixed Reception for Vision Pro

Initial impressions of the Vision Pro have been varied. Some users who had the opportunity to test the headset were amazed by its spatial computing capabilities and found the immersive entertainment experience to be truly immersive. However, there were also complaints about the headset being too heavy, requiring frequent removal for comfort.

Business Insider's Jordan Hart tested the device and praised its immersive viewing feature, but noted that the headset became cumbersome after extended use.

Around 200,000 Vision Pro headsets were reportedly sold during the pre-order phase in mid-January. As more users begin to experience the product, feedback and reviews are expected to shape its future updates and enhancements.
