C L E A R I N G’s booth at Art Basel in Miami Beach showcased an impressive selection of artists, including Shota Nakamura, Henry Curchod, Blair Whiteford, and more. Nakamura’s Untitled (2023), a bright red canvas depicting a figure in a sweeping landscape, drew viewers in with its striking composition. The booth also featured artwork from artists set to exhibit with the gallery in 2024, such as Curchod and Raguénès. Blair Whiteford’s Horizon with New Growth (2023), an oil and watercolor painting on linen, captivated viewers with its mesmerizing and gestural style.

Bradley Ertaskiran

Bradley Ertaskiran’s booth at Art Basel in Miami Beach presented an installation by Sudanese artist Azza El Siddique. The installation, entitled Final Fantasy (2023), featured sculptures and a stock ticker translating the ancient Egyptian funerary text The Book of the Dead. El Siddique’s work explores themes of control, religion, and loss in contemporary society. The installation was immersive and multisensory, with a large steel structure at its center and unfired and bisque-fired clay vessels.

The booth also showcased other works by El Siddique, including cement sculptures of Dobermans and painted canvas cut into intricate designs. The booth provided an engaging and thought-provoking experience for visitors, prompting discussions about power, wealth, and control.

Instituto de Visión

Instituto de Visión’s booth at Art Basel in Miami Beach featured works by three women artists: Aurora Pellizzi, Cristina Camacho, and Tania Candiani. The exhibition caught attention with its focus on the ways society shapes the notion of the body. Pellizzi’s Stheno (2023), a wool weaving depicting a woman’s open legs, and Camacho’s Eco de un susurro (2023), a painted canvas cut into intricate designs, prompted conversations about the influence of hetero-patriarchal society on body image.

The centerpiece of the booth was Candiani’s Reverencia III (2022), a sculpture made from braided and woven saris. The headdresses depicted in the sculpture represented the rituals of women and explored themes of identity and tradition. Instituto de Visión’s booth provided a platform for these artists to engage in a necessary conversation about societal concepts of the body.

Perrotin

Perrotin’s booth at Art Basel in Miami Beach showcased a diverse range of artists, including Emma Webster, Alex Gardner, and Xiyao Wang. Emma Webster’s large paintings stood out with their fantastical landscapes and captivating natural phenomena. The paintings, created using a hybrid VR method, reflected a decade of Webster’s focus on the environment and our complex relationship with it.

Other standout works at the booth included Sleeping Through The End (2023) by Alex Gardner and Allongé No. 5 (2023) by Xiyao Wang. Perrotin’s booth drew attention for its rapturous atmosphere, reflecting the vibrant energy of Miami.
