Cute and Comfortable Shoes

If there’s one thing we’re stepping into in 2024, it’s comfortable shoes, whether they’re flats, cute sneakers, or cozy boots. Gone are the days of highly-arched stilettos as we trade our heels for dressy ballet flats, prioritizing comfort while keeping style at the forefront.

According to Google’s Holiday 100, shoppers are looking towards these cushy (and cute!) Dr. Scholl's shoes, with searches for the Time Off Sneaker soaring over 5,000 percent this year. Others searched high and low for the celebrity-loved Ugg Tasman slippers, which increased by almost 900 percent on Google.

Flats stole the show in 2023, and we don’t expect this comfortable style to slow its course in the new year. "The Alaïa flat in mesh or with embellishment is still the most sought after, although the high street has its own more affordable versions," according to de Poret. We found a less-expensive version of the bejeweled flats in these Steve Madden Vinetta Rhinestone Flats, which come in black and have rhinestone studs decorating the faux leather upper.

Deep Cleaning Tools

Nothing feels like a reset quite like a deep clean, which is why it’s no surprise that searches for cleaning products have skyrocketed in anticipation of 2024. The phrase “deep cleaning house checklist” is up 140 percent according to Google Trends, which means that shoppers are looking to start the new year on a clean slate — a job this recently released Dyson wet and dry vacuum cleaner couldn’t be better suited for.

Plus, carpet cleaners were among the best-selling list of items PEOPLE readers bought during Black Friday this year, proving that shoppers are looking to go beneath surface level to achieve the best clean.

Google tells us that electric spin scrubbers were searched for more than ever in 2023, a statistic we noticed when the Labigo Electric Spin Scrubber joined the ranks as one of the top-selling devices PEOPLE readers purchased during Black Friday. This Lagigo scrubber comes with four replaceable brush heads, plus a retractable extension rod for hard-to-reach areas. It’s even marked down by $32 right now thanks to a coupon in the product description.

Skincare-Forward Makeup

We’re glad to say that skincare-infused cosmetics are here to stay, and may be taking the reins even more this year than last. De Poret expects excitement around Hailey Bieber’s Rhode Peptide Lip Treatment in the new year, especially if she releases another limited-edition shade like Strawberry Glaze. And it’s no surprise that peptide-infused bronzers like the Drunk Elephant drops are trending on Google as our skin turns paler this winter.

De Poret also calls out the Hourglass Veil Hydrating Skin Tint, as its moisture-rich formula does double-duty as a daily moisturizer and skin perfector. “It’s a lightweight formula with light coverage that boosts the skin’s moisture levels,” says the Klarna director. “It looks natural and gives your skin a healthy-looking glow.”
