Tiger Woods' Early Exit from Genesis Invitational
Tiger Woods pulled out of the Genesis Invitational due to illness during his second round.
Woods' PGA Tour Comeback Cut Short
Tiger Woods, the 15-times major champion and tournament host, had his PGA Tour comeback cut short when he withdrew from the Genesis Invitational in California.
Woods, who is still recovering from ankle fusion surgery, had a successful opening round but pulled out after six holes in the second round due to illness.
His longtime associate, Rob McNamara, explained that Woods experienced flu-like symptoms and dizziness on the course.
Recovery from Ankle Fusion Surgery
The 48-year-old golfer underwent ankle fusion surgery in April the previous year, forcing him to withdraw from the Masters and take a long break from competition.
After several months of recovery and rehabilitation, Woods made a comeback at the Hero World Challenge in December.
However, his ongoing recovery process and health issues have impacted his performance at the Genesis Invitational.
Flu Symptoms and Dehydration
Woods' withdrawal from the tournament was primarily due to flu-like symptoms and dehydration.
According to his associate, Woods had a fever and felt dizzy while walking and playing on the course.
He received immediate medical attention, where he was treated with IV fluids, and is expected to recover soon.
