Tina Fey and Tim Meadows Return to 'Mean Girls'

Tina Fey and Tim Meadows, who originally starred as Ms. Norbury and Principal Duvall, respectively, in the 2004 film 'Mean Girls,' have agreed to reprise their roles in the movie musical adaptation.

Fey revealed that they decided to return because they thought it made sense for their characters to still be working as teachers after all those years. She called Meadows and asked if he would do it, and they both agreed, on the condition that they wouldn't have to sing.

Fey also mentioned that it was fun working with Meadows again and that it was nice to see him. She jokingly added, 'One of us has aged—the other one of us is Tim Meadows!'

The Connection Between 'Mean Girls' Characters

In the latest 'Mean Girls' film, Ms. Norbury and Principal Duvall are married. Fey explained that this was 90% a joke to amuse a former writer from her show '30 Rock' named Robert Carlock.

She shared that after the first movie was released, Carlock used to tease both Fey and Meadows, saying, 'Your characters really are in love.' So the decision to have them married in the new film was mostly for Carlock's amusement.

The movie, starring Reneé Rapp, is projected to earn around $32 million at the domestic box office this weekend, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
