Xavi criticizes Barcelona's lack of spirit
Barcelona coach Xavi Hernandez was understandably not happy with his players after seeing his team struggle to beat Almeria at home in La Liga.
Almeria are yet to win in La Liga this season but weren’t far off taking a point against the champions before Sergi Roberto scored late on to secure a 3-2 victory.
Unacceptable first half performance
Xavi expressed his disappointment with the team's first-half performance, stating that they suffered more than he expected.
He mentioned that the team had 30 shots and gifted Almeria two goals, which he found unacceptable. He made it clear to the players that such a performance cannot be accepted.
Lack of spirit and intensity
Xavi pointed out that the team lacked spirit and compared their current state to the previous season. He mentioned the absence of aggression, focus, and rhythm, leading to a lack of intensity in their play.
He emphasized the importance of giving everything on the field out of respect for the club and the badge. Xavi stated that individual quality alone cannot bring success, and the team needs to regroup and show more hunger in their future matches.
