Starting today, Xbox Cloud Gaming is accessible on Meta's range of VR headsets. Users can now download the beta version of the cloud gaming app from the Meta Quest Store and stream a wide selection of Xbox games with an Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription, a compatible controller, and a Quest headset.

To initiate gameplay, users simply need to pair a supported Bluetooth controller. Currently, the app supports Xbox controllers (with Bluetooth support), PS4 controllers, and Nintendo Switch Pro controllers. PS5 controller support is expected to be added in the future, according to Meta.

Immersive VR Environment for Xbox Games

Meta's Quest 2, 3, and Pro headsets offer various display sizes to create an immersive VR environment for streaming Xbox games. Additionally, the latest Quest 3 and Pro headsets feature an Xbox-themed virtual space with full-color passthrough capabilities.

This partnership between Microsoft and Meta goes beyond gaming. As part of their collaboration, Microsoft and Meta aim to bring Microsoft Teams, Office, and Windows experiences to VR. In January, Microsoft Teams will be given a 3D makeover with the release of a Mesh-powered VR meeting experience available on Meta's Quest headsets.

Meta and Microsoft Partnership

The integration of Xbox Cloud Gaming on Meta VR headsets is a significant step in the broader partnership between Meta and Microsoft. Their collaboration extends to bringing Microsoft's productivity tools and software to the virtual reality space.

With the upcoming Mesh-powered VR meeting experience, Microsoft Teams will offer a new dimension to virtual meetings, allowing users to connect and collaborate in a 3D environment. This joint effort aims to enhance productivity and provide immersive experiences for VR users.
