Daniel Suarez to have new crew chief for 2024 NASCAR Cup season

Trackhouse Racing has announced that Daniel Suarez will have a new crew chief for the 2024 NASCAR Cup season. Matt Swiderski will replace Travis Mack as Suarez's crew chief for the No. 99 Chevrolet Camaro.

Changes for Daniel Suarez in the 2024 season

Daniel Suarez will be entering his eighth full-time season in the NASCAR Cup Series in 2024. Previously, Travis Mack served as his crew chief during his time with Trackhouse Racing. However, Mack will now move to Kaulig Racing as the technical director and crew chief for the No. 16 Chevrolet Camaro. Matt Swiderski, who was the competition director at Kaulig, will take over as Suarez's crew chief for the No. 99 machine. Swiderski has a successful track record, winning two Cup races with A.J. Allmendinger.

Before joining Kaulig, Swiderski worked as a crew chief in the NASCAR Xfinity Series for Richard Childress Racing and Team Penske. Trackhouse co-founder Justin Marks expressed confidence in Swiderski, stating that he is a proven winner with a strong engineering background. Marks believes that Swiderski and Suarez will work well together to achieve their goal of winning races and competing for a championship.

The 2023 season was a challenging one for Daniel Suarez. He failed to win any races and missed out on making the playoffs, finishing 19th in the championship standings. However, in the previous season, Suarez secured his first Cup victory at Sonoma Raceway and ended the year in tenth place.
