During the episode, Blaney and his fiancée Gianna Tulio discussed the incident, recalling their emotions while watching it unfold at home. Tulio admitted to feeling frozen and unsure of what to think at first, anxiously waiting to hear Blaney's voice on the radio to assure his safety.

During the race, Blaney was hit by Ty Gibbs in the No. 54 car, causing him to crash into the wall head-on. The wreck involved a total of 16 cars.
