Looking at NASCAR's longest active winless streaks

A look at the NASCAR Cup Series drivers with the longest winless streaks, and who has the best chance to end them.

Justin Haley - 105 races

Justin Haley holds the longest active winless streak in NASCAR, with 105 races since his last victory at Daytona in 2019. While his win was seen as a surprise due to a strategic decision and the rain-shortened race, Haley has shown potential at superspeedways. He will be moving to Rick Ware Racing for the 2024 season, which has never won a Cup race.

Considering Haley's proven ability at superspeedways, there is a chance that he could end his winless streak next year. However, it would be quite the upset if he were to reach Victory Lane with RWR.

Brad Keselowski - 98 races

Brad Keselowski, with 35 wins as a Cup Series driver, is the most successful full-time driver on this list. Despite joining Roush Fenway Racing as both a driver and co-owner, Keselowski has yet to secure a win since his most recent victory at Talladega in 2021. While he has come close to winning with RFK, it feels inevitable that he will end his winless streak in 2024.

Keselowski's experience and talent make it highly unlikely that he will go another year without a win. It would be a shock if he doesn't finally snap his winless streak next season.

Austin Cindric - 71 races

Austin Cindric, who won the Daytona 500 as a rookie driver in 2022, has struggled to find victory since then. While his Team Penske teammates Joey Logano and Ryan Blaney have gone on to win championships, Cindric has yet to return to Victory Lane. With the team appearing to take a step back in performance, it's uncertain if Cindric will see any major improvements in the upcoming season.

Unfortunately, it seems likely that Cindric's winless streak will continue into 2024. However, there is always a chance for improvement and surprises in NASCAR, so we can't completely count him out.

Chase Briscoe - 68 races

Chase Briscoe, the only driver among the four-car Stewart-Haas Racing team to have won at the Cup level, has notched just one top-five finish this year. Since his victory at Phoenix in 2022, SHR has fallen behind and Briscoe has struggled to replicate his earlier success. As the most senior member of the team following the departure of Kevin Harvick and Aric Almirola, there will be pressure on the entire organization to turn things around in 2024.

It's unfortunate, but I believe Briscoe and SHR will continue to face struggles in the new season. However, the updated Ford body may provide them with some potential for improvement.

Alex Bowman - 61 races

Alex Bowman, a Hendrick Motorsports driver, has faced challenges in returning to Victory Lane due to a concussion and a back injury in recent seasons. His most recent win came at Las Vegas in 2022, but there seems to be something missing with his No. 48 team right now. Bowman has announced that he will focus solely on his Cup efforts, putting his dirt racing on hold, and it's expected that he will come back stronger in 2024.

Despite the difficulties he has faced, Bowman is a proven winner and it's likely that he will once again find himself in Victory Lane next season.

Daniel Suarez - 56 races

Daniel Suarez secured his first and only Cup win at Sonoma in 2022, but has been unable to claim victory since then. While Trackhouse Racing has shown speed, unforced errors and bad luck have hindered their efforts. However, it's expected that 2024 will bring smoother sailing for Suarez and his team, and there's a strong possibility that he will capture his first oval win in the Cup series.

Trackhouse Racing's recent victory at Phoenix with Ross Chastain proves that they have the potential to win races, and it's likely that Suarez will be the one to deliver another win for the team.

Jimmie Johnson

Although not a full-time driver, it's worth mentioning seven-time champion Jimmie Johnson. His last win came over six years ago in 2017 at Dover, and he will make a handful of appearances in the 2024 season. Johnson's goal is to help strengthen Legacy Motor Club and guide his teammates as the organization switches to Toyota. While not a full-time competitor, Johnson will seize the opportunity to end his 133-race winless streak if it arises.

With his experience and skill, there's a chance that Johnson could add another win to his impressive record next season.
