NASCAR Forced to Move Xfinity Series Daytona Race Due to Rain

Due to ongoing wet weather conditions, NASCAR has been forced to reschedule its Xfinity Series Daytona race. The morning's rain delayed the drying process at Daytona International Speedway and the race will now take place at 9 p.m. ET instead of the initially postponed 11 a.m. ET.

The 300-mile event, which was originally scheduled for Saturday, has been repeatedly hampered by unfavorable weather. Xfinity Series rookie Jesse Love will start on the pole for the race, which will be run under the lights in Florida. Austin Hill, last year's winner, will start alongside him. The race will be televised on FS1.

Cole Custer, the defending Xfinity Series champion, will start the race from the 17th position.

NASCAR Cup Series Also Affected by Rain

Not only has the Xfinity Series been impacted by rain, but the NASCAR Cup Series has also faced weather-related delays. Originally scheduled to open on Sunday, the race was pushed back to 4 p.m. on Monday due to the rain. This marks the first outright postponement of the Daytona 500 since 2012.

Despite the weather setbacks, Denny Hamlin and Joey Logano remain optimistic. Hamlin discussed his strategy ahead of the race, while Logano secured the pole position. The Cup Series race will be televised on FOX at 4 p.m. ET.

Mixed Reactions from NASCAR Fans and Drivers

The delays and rescheduling of the races have left NASCAR fans and drivers with mixed feelings. Some fans who had purchased tickets for the originally scheduled events expressed disappointment, while others tried to make the best of the situation.

Spire Motorsports teammates Zane Smith and Carson Hocevar expressed their disappointment but also sympathized with the fans. They made plans to meet with fans who had made the trip, despite the race being postponed.
