NASCAR star's bet with wife

NASCAR star Tyler Reddick recently shared the story of how he and his wife chose their son's name in an episode of the Netflix documentary 'NASCAR: Full Speed'. Reddick explained that before the start of the Xfinity Championship race in 2019, he made a bet with his wife, Alexa De Leon, about their unborn child's name.

Reddick revealed that they were having trouble agreeing on a name, with each of them having different preferences. To settle the matter, they made a wager: if Reddick won the championship race, he could name their son 'Beau' or whatever else he liked. However, if he lost, his wife would have the final say in choosing the name.

Motivation to win the championship

The bet served as a great source of motivation for Reddick, as he was determined not to lose the championship. He recalled thinking, 'There was no way I’m gonna lose this championship', and this mindset pushed him to give his best performance.

As fate would have it, Reddick emerged victorious at the Homestead-Miami Speedway, clinching the Xfinity Championship title in 2019. This win not only secured his son's name as 'Beau', but also brought him immense satisfaction and pride.
