Raptors Sign Kelly Olynyk to Contract Extension

Toronto Raptors center Kelly Olynyk has agreed to a new contract extension worth $26.25 million over two years, according to agent Jeff Schwartz of Excel Sports. The deal will keep Olynyk with the Raptors until the 2025-2026 season. He will be eligible for five percent annual raises as per the terms of the agreement.

Olynyk, a Canadian native, joined the Raptors in a trade deadline deal with the Utah Jazz in February. The team targeted Olynyk as a support player for Jakob Poeltl in the frontcourt and made the trade with the intention of signing him to a contract extension.

This season, Olynyk has been averaging nine points and a career-best 4.2 assists per game with a shooting percentage of 54%. He has been particularly efficient from the field, shooting 39% on three-pointers and 60% on two-pointers. These impressive stats have made Olynyk one of only six players in the league to achieve such shooting percentages.
