Draymond Green's Retirement Consideration

In a recent episode of "The Draymond Green Show," the Golden State Warriors' player opened up about a conversation he had with NBA commissioner Adam Silver during his indefinite league suspension. Green revealed that he had contemplated retirement and expressed his desire to leave the NBA. However, Silver talked him out of it.

Green stated, "I told him, 'Adam this is too much for me... This is too much. It's all becoming too much for me -- and I'm going to retire.'" He further added, "And Adam said, 'You're making a very rash decision and I won't let you do that.'"

The conversation between Green and Silver proved to be beneficial for the player. Green expressed his gratitude for having a commissioner who prioritizes helping the players over punishing them, stating, "Very thankful to play in a league with a commissioner like Adam who's more about helping you than hurting you; helping you than punishing you. He's more about the players."

Green's Suspension and Reinstatement

Green's conversation with Silver occurred after he hit Phoenix center Jusuf Nurkic in the face on December 12, resulting in his suspension. It was the second violent act from Green within a month, as he was previously suspended for five games for grabbing Minnesota's Rudy Gobert and dragging him across the court in a chokehold.

Following his suspension, Green underwent counseling for a month. The NBA reinstated him on Saturday, and he has begun ramping up with the Warriors for his return. Sources expect him to be back on the court in approximately a week. Counseling sessions will continue even after he resumes playing.

The Golden State Warriors currently have a struggling season with a record of 17-19, placing them 11th in the Western Conference. Green's return is anticipated to provide a boost for the team.

Green's Season and Contract

This season, Green has averaged 9.7 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 5.8 assists in 15 games. He is currently in the first year of a four-year, $100 million contract. With each game he is suspended, Green loses $153,941.

Despite his suspension and personal struggles, Green remains committed to playing for the Warriors and making a positive impact on the team. His return will be eagerly awaited by fans and fellow teammates alike.
