De'Aaron Fox and Domantas Sabonis Snubbed from NBA All-Stars

Despite their exceptional performances this season, De'Aaron Fox and Domantas Sabonis from the Sacramento Kings were not selected as 2024 NBA All-Stars. Both players have been crucial to the Kings' success, with Fox averaging a career-best 27.2 points per game along with 5.5 assists and 4.1 rebounds per game. Sabonis, on the other hand, leads the league in rebounds with 13 per game and also contributes 19.9 points and 8.0 assists per game. Despite these impressive numbers, the West coaches did not choose them as reserves for the All-Star team.

Kings coach Mike Brown expressed his disappointment with this decision, stating that it was a glaring wrongdoing. He believes that both Fox and Sabonis deserve to be recognized for their elite level of play.

The Los Angeles Lakers, who have a losing record, managed to secure two spots in the West All-Star roster with LeBron James as a starter and Anthony Davis as a reserve. This further adds to the controversy surrounding the snub of Fox and Sabonis.

Andscape's NBA All-Snub Team

The 2024 NBA All-Star Game will feature 24 players competing at the Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis on February 18. While the official All-Star roster has been revealed, there are still several deserving players who didn't make the cut. As a result, Andscape presents its annual NBA All-Snub team, consisting of the players who should have been selected but were overlooked.

Among the notable snubs is Rudy Gobert from the Minnesota Timberwolves, who has been a strong candidate for Defensive Player of the Year. Gobert ranks second in the NBA in rebounding and eighth in blocks per game, making a significant impact on the defensive end.

Brandon Ingram from the New Orleans Pelicans is another player who deserved recognition. He is the second-leading scorer on the team, even with Zion Williamson missing 20 games this season. Ingram has played a crucial role in leading the Pelicans to the seventh-best record in the Western Conference.

Other Snubbed Players

Lauri Markkanen from the Utah Jazz, Jamal Murray from the Denver Nuggets, Kristaps Porzingis from the Boston Celtics, Alperen Sengun from the Houston Rockets, Victor Wembanyama from the San Antonio Spurs, and Trae Young from the Atlanta Hawks are also notable snubs from the All-Star team.

Markkanen's candidacy was impacted by the Jazz's performance, as they are currently on the fringe of the Play-In Tournament. Murray, a key player for the reigning NBA champion Nuggets, has missed several games due to availability issues. Porzingis has been performing well for the Celtics, but was overshadowed by his teammates Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown. Sengun's impressive improvement on the Rockets couldn't overcome the team's losing record. Wembanyama, the top pick in the 2023 NBA draft, has been exceptional individually but couldn't overcome the Spurs' poor record. Young's impressive scoring and playmaking couldn't compensate for the Hawks' disappointing season.

Despite not making the official All-Star roster, these players have shown their worth throughout the season and should not be overlooked.
